Liana Savard

Liana Savard (née Bob) has been an active director, educator and performer of music for the past 15 years. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Music degree in jazz studies from North Vancouver's Capilano College in 2000, Mrs. Savard went on to obtain her Master of Music degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 2002.

During her time in Edmonton, Liana Savard was fundamental to the formation and launch of a new jazz choir at the University. Whilst under the direction of Mrs. Savard, Happnin': The University of Alberta Jazz Choir, was invited to perform at the Canadian Rocky Mountain Festival in Banff, Choralfest in Edmonton, and the Holy Trinity Anglican Concert Series. In addition to Happnin', which she led from 2001-2005, Liana Savard was director of the Concordia High School Choir (2002-2004), the Cosmopolitan Music Society Chorus (2000-2001) and Holy Spirit Lutheran Church Choir (2001-2002). Other duties in Edmonton included instructing University level Aural Skills classes for first and second year undergraduate students, as well as teaching private piano and voice lessons for Community Music Initiatives.

As a native of Fort Langley, Liana Savard has made her mark with a number of B.C. based ensembles as well. From 1998-2000, Mrs. Savard was the director of Reflections, based in Langley, as well as the Langley Community Chorus from 1999-2000. Not only is she in demand as a festival clinician, Mrs. Savard also keeps active as a vocal soloist and has performed with Edmonton's Jazz City Program and Vancouver's Eighth Avenue. As an ensemble vocalist, Mrs. Savard has sung and recorded with Edmonton's Madrigal Singers, The University of Alberta Chamber Choir, Capilano College's premier jazz ensemble named Nite Cap, and Elektra, the Vancouver Women's Chorus.

Liana Savard is currently director of the Vancouver Orpheus Male Voice Choir, and conducts the Coastal Sound Music Academy Girls Choir. In addition, she maintains a thriving vocal studio at the Langley Community Music School and is the Upper Fraser Valley representative for the BC Choral Federation.
